Consultation & Booking

We will meet (virtually) for a 30 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit to work together. Come with all the questions! I love talking about birth and the role that I play as your doula. I want to know where you’re at and what you’re looking for so I can know how to best support you!

Once you are ready to move forward, you will sign the contract and pay your deposit via the online portal. That’s when my support begins :)

Prenatal Meetings & Birth Prep

Need Samantha rewording here

During your pregnancy, we will meet for two prenatal meetings in your home. These meetings look different for every family. My support is not one-size-fits-all. I want to get to know your unique needs for support, and the goals that you want to achieve during your birth.

This can look like:

  • Birth plan building

  • Practicing labor positions

  • Reviewing comfort measures

  • Fear release

  • Partner coaching

  • …so much more!

The On-Call Period

I consider myself fully on-call for your birth from 37 weeks on. This means that I will stay within 2 hours of your birth location and will be reachable by phone 24/7. A question I often get asked is, “what happens if I go into labor before 37 weeks?”. — In the unlikely event of a preterm birth, I would make every reasonable effort to be there, or I would send a back up doula until I could get to you. Either way, you’re covered! :) We can talk about back up doulas more in our consultation!

During the last few weeks and days leading up to your babe’s arrival, we will be in contact about signs of early labor, mental and physical preparation, and so much more. Often times, near your due date, we’ll be texting almost every day. I always say, those last few days of pregnancy is where the work really begins.

Birthing Day

When you’re in labor, let me know! We will decide on a time and location for me to come meet you.

Once I arrive, I stay with you until after your baby is born! Throughout your labor, I guide you through your journey, empower you and your partner to advocate for your preferences (and speak up if you can’t for yourself),  use support techniques that we talked about during our prenatal meetings to bring you comfort and help you reach your goals, facilitate connection between you and your partner, and so so soooo much more.

Some things I bring to every birth: a TENS unit, acupressure comb, and rebozo! We will go over how to use these things in our prenatal meetings.

Postpartum

Postpartum begins once your placenta is born. I stay with you at your birth location for 1-2 hours after this happens. I like to make sure all of your postpartum preferences are met and everyone is settled before I leave.

I will be in touch to schedule our postpartum visit within 14 days of the birth. Typically this visit involves processing your birth story, going over any breastfeeding or baby care assistance you need, and getting feedback about my role.

I always say, the support doesn’t stop because our contract ends. I love keeping in touch with families and watching your babies grow! ♡

"What happens if you can't attend the birth?"

I always contract a back-up birth doula in the unlikely chance of an emergency or sickness. You will have the option of meeting the back-up doula through a virtual call. If no doula attends your birth, you will be refunded per guidelines of our signed contract.

"How many clients do you take?"

Typically, I limit myself to 1 - 3 doula clients per month.

Please check my availability here, or sign up for my newsletter to be the first to hear when a spot opens up.
